SO MANY CRYSTALS, WHERE DO I START

I work with crystals and often my clients ask me what crystals should they get so I have put together crystals to start with for a Crystal Beginner’s kit.

There are a lot of crystals out there so it can be overwhelming. Perhaps you’re not sure where to even start? Here are some core crystals that are must-have for every collection. And they are affordable, easy to find with all with uniquely different energies.

DIFFERENT TYPES: TUMBLE STONES OR CRYSTAL POINTS

Please note, that all you need is a Tumble Stone. These are available everywhere. These polished crystals are easy to carry on you and place on your body. Some of the crystals on this list such as Quartz and Amethyst are also available as natural, polished or cut Crystal Points. These will cost a bit more. They are worth it later on as you progress and start to learn and sense how the form of a crystal affects its energy.

AGATE: THE STABILIZER
If you’re going to carry one stone around with you wherever you go, let it be agate. As the communication stone, agate will help you open up and make expression easier. Promoting inner stability, security and self-confidence, it’s no wonder agate is highly regarded as a stabilizing and strengthening influence.

AMETHYST: STONE OF SPIRITUALITY
Super spiritual Amethyst connects you with your spiritual power. Deeply cleansing, this violet crystal purifies negative energies. You can also use Amethyst for protection and developing your natural psychic abilities.

AVENTURINE: GOOD LUCK STONE
Provides balance of the female and male energies. This stone is quite common and comes in red, orange, pink, and brown. This stone is most excellent for restoring vitality and motivation. It is a high-energy stone and can also assist with stimulating creativity. Traditionally, it was used to protect the deceased on their journey to the afterlife. It can be useful for overcoming abuse and for learning to trust yourself.

CITRINE: THE PROSPERITY MAGNET
This golden crystal is renowned for its ability to draw prosperity and abundance into your life. Citrine is also good for self-confidence as it opens up the Solar Plexus Chakra. This crystal can also be used to detoxify negative energies from the aura and encourage a more positive state of mind.

CLEAR QUARTZ: THE MASTER HEALER
An essential crystal healing tool and a good choice for your first crystal. Clear Quartz crystals are probably the most versatile crystals and can be programmed for any purpose. They can direct energies and enhance the energy of other crystals. It is cleansing, helps bring clarity while also keeping your energy and aura bright and strong.

As the name suggests, this stone is turquoise, of varying shades of blue and green, and it is easily found. A healer of the spirit, providing a soothing energy and bringing peace of mind. Turquoise is great for your mental well-being and dissolves any thoughts of self-hatred or self sabotage. As you can see, each of these stones has many different properties, and the above list barely scratches the surface of what each stone has to offer, or the many other stones available. Don’t worry about going out and getting them all — they will come into your life as they are needed. When buying them from a store, it is important to pick the ones that call to you.

To cleanse your crystals, you can place them outdoors under a full moon, or rinse them with rosewater with the intention to clear their accumulated energies and revitalize them. If you have a selenite crystal, placing the other crystals near this one and the selenite will cleanse them.

Crystals can be worn as jewelry, carried in your pocket, or left on a nightstand, under your pillow or at work at your desk or wherever you spend a lot of time at. They are great to use during meditation, and some can help to amplify your prayers.

If you are curious, but still skeptical, I suggest just buying one and seeing if anything changes in your life or if you feel any differently. The worst that can happen is nothing yet the best that can happen is that something will indeed change!
