Q: What is Mindfulness? A. Mindfulness or being mindful is being aware of your present moment. In mindfulness, you are not judging, reflecting or thinking. You are simply observing the moment in which you find yourself, fully aware. Moments are like a breath. Each breath is replaced by the next breath. You are there with no other purpose than being awake and aware of that moment. So mindfulness is a state of living in the moment, of being relaxed, calm and fully engaged in what we are doing. Mindfulness is being fully aware of what is happening right now and giving ourselves completely to our task without distraction. By learning how to enjoy and be in the present moment we can find peace within ourselves. Mindfulness is a practice that you can embrace as part of your daily life and when carrying out routine and mundane tasks.
Q: What is Reiki? A: On a scientific level studies have shown that Reiki increases the white blood cell count, giving a much needed boost to the immune system. It also has been shown to relieve pain, grief, depression, anxiety, stress, insomnia and more. When one gives or receives Reiki their brain moves into an alpha state causing a deep relaxation which is a state that is often hard to find in our busy Western world. Through Reiki, we have seen great healing occur on both physical and non-physical levels; Cancer released, arthritis recede, chronic pain cease to exist, hearts opened, anxiety released, grief purged and so much more.
When we start to look deeply within the system of Reiki we begin to see that Usui-san is really teaching us about our state of mind and how to work with the mind. According to Usui Sensei’s surviving students, Mikao Usui introduced his students to the practice of mindfulness at First Degree level, and emphasized this more at Second Degree level.
This, of course, makes perfect sense since we all know that energy follows the mind.
If the mind is distracted, our energy is also distracted.
If our mind is all over the place, our energy is also all over the place.
If our energy is all over the place, we do not have any focused energy within to heal ourselves let alone help others to heal themselves.
So through the powerful combination of Mindful Reiki, we can watch a soul find groundedness, ready to move forward to find balance and healing in their #WholeHealth while stepping into their power of who they really are and being able to claim their Divine Design future and finally have a homecoming to be able to reconnect with their authentic self! We utilize Mindful Reiki in all individual sessions as well as group classes.
